1. They have a strong understanding of the Christian Gospel and defend it fiercely.
2. They hunger for the Word of God to be taught, understood and applied in their own lives, their families and others.
3. They are passionate in lifestyle and worship, throwing themselves wholeheartedly into serving Jesus in whatever ways they can.
4. They are ruthlessly faithful to their wives and families, their close friends and community.
5. They sniff out injustice a mile off and root it out, constantly desiring that God's truth and values are spoken out and upheld.
6. They are generous and hospitable with their belongings and their wealth, giving to all who are in need cheerfully and unconditionally.
7. They are unashamedly honest and vulnerable and prepared to be mentored and discipled, held accountable and are brave enough to be affirmed or chastised with equal valour and dignity.
8. They know the absolute necessity of engaging in spiritual warfare on a continuous basis. To this end, they wield a sword in prayer for themselves and others at any opportunity.
9. They walk in weakness, meekness and simplicity, basing their lives on the Biblical promise that Our Father's strength and power is made perfect at those times.
10. They devote themselves, sacrificially, to their wives and children.
11. If not married, they gather around them a small, trusted community who will lock shields with them and stand stolidly against the enemies vile, treacherous and stinking schemes.
12. They learn how to disagree and work through conflict with grace and love.
13. They know how to laugh and have the greatest amount of clean fun this side of heaven.
14. They war against any form of sexism, racism, or ageism and stand on the Biblical truth that all mankind bears a reflection of their maker and deserve to be respected and honoured as such.
15. They acknowledge freely that the eye is the lamp of the body and and they are relentlessly committed to guard against the degrading of the female body through all forms of pornography, both written and visual.
16. They know how to party!
17. They want to gain an understanding of how they learn best and pursue discipleship through that means accordingly.
18. They will be prepared to be unpopular for the sake of becoming more like Jesus.
19. They will be men of conviction and principle who do not have a wish bone where their backbone should be.
20. They have realised that Christian discipleship is not about gaining knowledge, but about knowing a few things well, and being prepared to die for them.
21. They will echo the words of Jim Elliot, who said, 'He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose'.
